Report Manager does not show Deployed Reports or Site Settings
Subscriptions and Help links the rest of the Report Manager is blank. It's
missing the 'Site Settings' link and I also deployed the Sample reports
shipped with Reporting Services but the 'SampleReports' folder does not show
in Report Manager.
I had a very hard time configuring Reporting Services. I had to use the
config tools to create a new key for the RSReportServer.config. I also had to
modify the security option from 'windows' to 'SQL' in order to be able to
access the Report Manager at all.
I know the SampleReports have deployed because if I go to...
http://localhost/ReportServer/SampleReports
...it gives me links to the reports as below...
localhost/ReportServer - /

But why is the Report Manager page not showing the SampleReports folder or
the Site Settings link?I am having the same problem - Site Settings does not appear on the
Report Manager page. Have you been able to resolve the problem?

the sites. When you do this no-one is considered administrator. Turn
anonymous access off and it should appear.

Report History in SQL Reporting Service
Hi,
I am using SQL Server 2005 Reporting service. I am working on a report. I have made several subscriptions for it. Report runs according to subscription. SQL Server Reporting service also offers functionality to save report histories. Now how can I configure it so that whenever report runs according to its subscription, a history should be automatically saved?
If in case it is not possible by some automatic process then is there any way to set multiple schedules for history of the single report like multiple subscriptions can be set for single report.
Waiting for your response. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Sulman.
Store all report execution snapshots in history.
There are also other options to indicate how many snapshots you want to keep, as well as creating snapshots on a regular schedule.|||Thanx, J Quick
Yes there is an option in Hisotry properties "Store all report execution snapshots in history". But let me clear how it works.
On the Execution property page there are two option.
1. "Render this report with the most recent data"
This option means that whenever the report will be executed, it will get fresh data from database by making query on it.
2. "Render this report from an execution snapshot"
This option means that an execution snapshot of report will be saved either once when the Apply button is pressed or it will keep on updating depending upon schedule. But at one time there will be only one execution snapsho. And whenever the report will be executed, it will be rendered from that execution snapshot and not from the fresh data of database.
Now i come to History property mentioned above to "Store all report execution snapshots in history". It will work only when the execution property of report is set to "Render this report from an execution snapshot". And if execution snapshot is scheduled to be updated then each time the execution snapshot will update it will also be saved in history as history snapshot. So for this history property to work, we have to sacrifice the updated and fresh data. But in my case, i have to get fresh data every time and also i want to save the history of that executed report. Try to think on this line.
Anyhow i appreciate your effort. Thanx again.
Sulman.

I don't think the statement above is correct, but I could be wrong since it has been some time since I tried it.
As I recall, the options to "Render this report with the most recent data" and "Store all report execution snapshots in history" are on different property pages and aren't mutually exclusive.

Report from - Report to
Hi,
I have a report setup on reporting services which has several subscriptions attached. The report is run every business day, each hour (8am till 7pm), but the only problem I currently have, is with the report from and report to fields. Is there a proper way to set these up for the automatic distribution, so that the subscription that runs at 8am, will report data from the day before 7pm till 8am?
thanks!
Lionell
Can you clarify your ask? I think what you want is possible, but I'm not sure whether you want a distribution list (data-driven subscription) or you want the 8:00 AM report to be different than the other reports (parameterized report or distinct .RDL).
|||It's a standard report, not a data-driven subscription. The 8:00 AM report needs to report data from the last time the report was run the previous day until 8:00AM of the current day.
Is there a @.LastTimeRun function which can be used? This probably needs to be put into the report right? Or can it be configured through the web based report manager?
Every report that runs needs to report data from a certain period, for example the 8:00AM report will report from 7pm previous day till 8:00AM current day. Next report will be run at 9:00AM and report data from 8:00AM till 9:00AM and so on.
Hope this explains it better.
regards
Lionell
