Report page size when printing

I use SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. The clients use Internet Explorer 6 or higher on Windows XP.

When i access a report by ReportServer URL, the report viewer show me this report with my default parameters selected. If i choose "PDF" format and i click "Export", my report is perfect on printing.

My problem is the button print of the ReportViewer page, if i click on it, the printed report is very too large (on two page). I presume that some settings are wrong in my report, the maximum width of the content never exceed 31 cm, i want the report in LandScape.

There are my settings for this report :

InteractiveSize : 11in; 8,5in

Margins : 1,5cm; 1,5cm; 1,5cm; 1,5cm

PageSize : 35cm; 25cm

Where's the problem when i use the print button directly into the ReportViewer ? Internet Explorer ? The printer drivers or settings ? The report settings ?

Sorry for my english...

What happens when you set InteractiveWidth to 35cm and InteractiveHeight to 25cm? InteractiveHeight/Width are used to generate soft page breaks with HTML and Excel formats.|||Same problem, i have deleted the report before deploying again with the updated report (InteractiveWidth to 35cm and InteractiveHeight to 25cm) and the report stay on 2 page in width.|||At what width does the report break across pages? This usually happens when the report body width exceeds the page width minus (left and right margins).|||ok i will change the width and height of the page. It seem's to be 27.5 X 21.5 cm, so i will reduce the width and the content will fit on one page. Thanks.

Report Model - where is it stored?

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out where a "report model" is stored in the ReportServer database. Can anyone tell me the tables and views where a report model definition is stored internally?

Thanks,

BCB

The ReportServer's Catalog table contains the information you want (I think). To get the info stored for each report, you can use

use ReportServer;

select * from Catalog

where Type = 2;

HTH.

|||

Thanks for your reply. The query you provided will return the RS reports that are stored in the Catalog table. I modified your query to return the Model data that I wanted. (See below.) The Type column has a value of 6 for models as you can see in the query. The answer to my original question appears to be that report models are stored in their entirety in the Content column. It is an image column that has a capacity of 2 billion bytes. I put the model in the "black box" category because it does not seem to be implemented (in the physical sense) as views or procedures that can be examined with the naked eye - my favorite tool.

USE ReportServer;

SELECT

ItemID,

Path,

Name,

Description,

Content,

DATALENGTH(Content) AS [Content Length],

Type

FROM

Catalog

WHERE

Type = 6;

Report Manager stops with HTTP 401 error (unauthorized)

Hello!
During my holiday the report manager stopped working and it is not possible
to access the reports using http://reportserver/reports. All automatic
distribution of reports have also stopped. As always, nobody has done
anything on the web server except adding a new website.
All reports are available from http://reportserver/reportserver and working
as they should.
Has anyone experienced the same and have any leads on how to fix this? I
have tried different security settings on the virtual directories, but
everything seems like it was from installation date. I am reluctant to
change security settings using rsconfig, etc. because all reports are
working.
Many thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Vemund HagaYou might take a look at a couple of things. I am not sure what the cause
is, but it sounds like a user account issue with the reports directory.
The account which runs the Reports web service might have changed or have a
bad password. You can find this in IIS for the virtual directory.
The unattended execution account may have changed or have a bad password.
The SQL Agent may have stopped. Subscriptions would no longer be delivered.
As you know, there could be various reasons why something like this
happens. Just wanted to throw you a few bones to get you going.
Accessing the Reports directory, or subscriptions failing to fire should
write errors to the log file. If you send me the log files, I will take a
look and see if I find something.

Report Manager in SQL Sever 2005

I just loaded Reporting Services for 2005 and when I go to
http://localhost/reportserver I do not see the Report Manager like I did in
Reporting Services 2000. I have deployed a test report to the server and it
works, but when I go to the server I get a list view of the directory and
don't get the report manager. I have a report manager directory on my c:
drive but cannot seem to find out how to launch it. Does 2005 have a web
based Report Manager? or do I have to access it through the Server
Management Studio?

Report Manager http/https - mixed links

Hi,
I have setup reportserver with default settings (non https) and afterwards in IIS added a certificate and https support.
Know I am able to work really well and secure over the internet, but some links in report manager pointing to http://server.domain.com/reports instead of https:
For example if i call a report and then in the top there are (view, properties,...)
- View is HTTPS
- Properties is HTTPS
- History is HTTP
- Subscription is HTTP

I have read some articles - mentions I should configure https, but
- in Report Configuration you could not setup HTTPS
- in rsreportserver.config i have entered the https link version but did not change anything
- in RSWebApplication.config the Reportserverurltag is blank - so i did not change anything

Thanks for any help

HANNESCan you check to make sure that in the RSReportServer.config file the SecureConnectionLevel is set to 3?|||after this switch i received an error - SSL/TSL trust relationship could not be established, but then i entered the full qualified certifcate name in report server configuration and now its working fine

may thanks
HANNES|||

You noted you entered the fully qualifed certificate name in the report server configuration and it is working....where exactly did you enter this information in the report server configuration? Are you speaking of the 'Report Server Configuration' application, or some other config file that affects the report server configuration?

Thanks

As far as I remember I have modified the RSWebApplication.config config file in the reportmanager directory of report server.

I have modified the ReportServerUrl tag to something like this <ReportServerUrl>https://fullqualifiedhostname/ReportServer</ReportServerUrl> (matching the certificate name.

Report manager HTTP status 400: Bad Request

I am having trouble to access Report Manager on a fresh SQL Reporting Services install on Win 2003, SQL 2000 SP3a machine. /ReportServer works fine, I've created a Virtual Directory /OnlineReports to allow anomynous access but /Reports doesn't work. So I can't add IUSR to the folder I need anomymous access on. Can somebody please help?

Thanks in advance.

Is Report Manager configured correctly? Can you look in RSWebApplication.config and see what ReportServerUrl is set to?|||

Yes, here's what it shows <ReportServerUrl>http://www.domain.com/ReportServer</ReportServerUrl>

www.domain.com/ReportServer works but www.domain.com/Reports doesn't.

Thank you.

|||

Well, now I have a different error. It said The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized when I go to www.domain.com/Reports. I log in as Administrator and it still said I am unauthorized. Do I have to uninstall and reinstall to get this working?

Thank you.

|||Add a DWORD entry called DisableLoopbackCheck to
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa. Setting this key to a value of 1 fixed the issue.

Report Manager Error - Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Hi,
I can browse to my ReportServer without a problem. But when I try to
browse to the Report Manager I get the following error - Object
reference not set to an instance of an object.
I checked the log file and I'm seeing the following (snippet)
Object reference not set to an instance of an object
at
Microsoft.ReportingServices.UI.RSWebServiceWrapper.GetReportServerAuthentic= ation()
I'm Running SQL Server 2000 SP4
SQL Reporting Services 2000 SP1 (I know...)
This has been working fine up to know but suddenly seems to have broken
down. I've seen 2 other posts of this nature on google groups but
neither with a resolution.
Can anyone help me out please'
Thanks,
Gear=F3idok, I got it.
It was a default HTTP header in the root folder in IIS that was set
that caused this. Removed this and left it blank and it worked fine
for me.

Report Manager error

I am able to view reports by navigating directly to /ReportServer however the
report manager (/Reports/Home.aspx) gives the following:
ERROR.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
No other info is provided. I'm using SSL and RS SP2 is installed, SQL has
SP4. I've looked in the Reporting Services Log files but I don't see
anything there to help trap this error.
What "object" might this be? Any ideas about how to debug this?
Thanks,

Report Manager configuration

We deployed Reporting Services recently to a customer with a latest release and build. When they type in http://<server>/ReportServer, this just comes up with a screen like a navigation sreen showing folders and links to reports. What needs to be done to get the Report Manager screen showing?

It has been a while since I actually installed Reporting Services. When they go into configuration, all of the green checks are there (except for Web Service Identity, which is Red).

Thanks for any information.

Solved it...the user was not using the Virtual Directory. Sorry for the "newbie" post.

Report Manager

I think I have Reporting Services installed correctly and it is working except for the Report Manager.
When I browse to http://localhost/reportserver I dont have a user interface. All I see is big black letters saying localhost/reportserver -/ and underneath is a list of the reports I have deployed.
How do I get the user interface to show?
Your help is appreciated.
Roy

OK,
The answer is so simple I can't beleive I overlooked it.
The path to Report Manager is http://<servername>/reports
When I browsed there everything was as expected.|||The Report Manager web application resides here:
http://locahost/reports.

You are accessing the web service URL.
