Report looks bad on screen but prints OK

I have a report where I'm using text boxes in a grid format. When I preview
the Report the grid looks fine, but when viewed in the Report Manager, the
boxes don't line up. When I print the report or export to PDF, however, it
is OK. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know of any fixes for
this?The problem you are seeing is overlapping textboxes. HTML does not do
overlapping textboxes (or other items). The other formats do.

Thanks for the quick response. My text boxes butt up against one another
but do not overlap. Is there a minimum gap that needs to be between the text
boxes in order to eliminate this issue?

You can check the Location and Size properties for each textbox to determine
if they overlap.

I have this same problem even if it is not overlapping ..
Could you check the size of the data and its space in the text box. Some of
my problem fixed by increasing the size of the text boxes. but still it is
there...

Mine is really a big one with around 35 textboxes and I was trying to fix
itin landscape ...

>|||I have a similar situation. I can format my report so it looks great on the
web screen, but cuts off the lower half of my header when I print using the
print icon in SSRS 2005. I have re-formatted so the hardcopy looks great,
but then there is a blank space of and inch and 1/2 between my header and
detail. Since most of my users are view-only, I am setting it up to look
good in the web view. Now I'm trying to figure out how to disable the print
icon. (Ideally, I the hard-copy and web-view would look alike.)
Any suggestions on correcting this is aprreciated.

Report is rendered @ a smaller scale when printing from production

ISSUE: We have a report that prints at about 59% of normal size when printing
from production. Testing this report from the test server prints normally at
100%. Print Services and SQL servers have been rebooted, PrintService and
ReportServer stopped and restarted etc... What could cause this type of

It's possible that someone will be have directly experienced this and
can offer an instant solution.
It's not 100% clear to me whether the problem is confined to a single
report or not. If it is a single report then that report would be the
focus. If it happens to multiple reports then it is a different
situation.
If not, I would suggest that you describe in more detail the setup
that works as expected and, more importantly, the setup that doesn't
behave as expected.

Report Formatting Differently on different servers with same RDL

This is a good one:

Same RDL, 2 different servers. I run the report on my computer and export to PDF, it prints properly. When the customer runs the report on their server (SSRS 2K5 SP1, same as mine), they get it displayed differently. The columns on the report extend to the next page and the lines are thicker.

Is this a formatting issue on the customer's PC? It uses standard fonts (Tahoma, Sans-serif).

Any ideas?

maybe you are using a matrix on the report and the customer has different data (more data) that makes the matrix extend?

lines are thicker? I can't think of anything there unless it is the fonts, but you look ok with that.

No, it is not a matrix report. It is a standard layout table that is 10 inches wide, it's set for landscape with .5in margins.
